Jacob was born in Alstatten, Switzerland in 22 Oct 1868. After his mother died he could not get along with his Stepmother. He came to the U.S.. It is likely that the name was changed then. He ended up in his early 20's looking for work at the Philadelphia employment agency. Dan Harker, farmer from Elmer, NJ, went there for help. Jacob went with him and learned farming.
Helen's father, John Kugler, got acquainted with Jacob through a lodge. After lodge meetings they would go to the Albright's house in Glassboro, NJ.
After Harry Albright died of scarlet fever in Philadelphia, Helen moved to Glassboro with her 2 small children, Lewis and Ruth Albright.
After Helen marriage to Jacob, they bought a small farm outside of Harrisonville by Woodstown and Mulica Hill Road.
